Turin Airport Transfer
1. Learn

Turin, capital of the Piedmont region, with about one million inhabitants, is an important business and cultural center in northern Italy. Located on the left bank of Po River, in front of Susa Valley and surrounded by the western Alpine arch, the area is characterized by a varied landscape represented by magnificent alpine resorts, woods and large stretches of vineyards. The city was the first capital of modern Italy, also host of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games and by its aristocratic atmosphere, grand boulevards and palaces, old world sophisticated shops and several galleries has become an increasingly popular tourist resort.
If you are planning a trip to Italy, Turin Airport Transfer recommends you the city with a rich culture and history, known not only for its churches, art galleries, museums and theatres but also for its renaissance, rococo, neo-classical, baroque and art nouveau architecture.
Whether you choose Turin for spending your holiday or just for business, Turin Airport Transfer suggest you to choose the plane as there are numerous airlines companies which are operating on Turin Airport. Built in 1953, and located at about 16 km north-northwest of the city of Turin, Turin – Caselle Airport won the ACI Europe Best Airport Awards in both 2007 and 2008.

2. Visit

Not such a famous tourist destination as Florence or Rome, Turin is still a pleasant city with a longstanding cultural and artistic history, considered by many people the European capital of Baroque, also being called “the little Paris”. Turin Airport Transfer wants to bring into your attention some beautiful places to visit if you are planning crossing the city during your next holiday:
Museo Egizio (Egyptian Museum): Specialized in Egyptian archaeology and anthropology, the museum hosts one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities, with more than 30,000 artefacts represented by statues of various gods and pharaohs, papyruses, canopic vessels, mummies and sarcophagi. With more than 550,000 visitors in 2006, Museo Egizio is one of the largest museums in Italy.
Palazzo Reale: Filling an entire side of the large Piazza Castello, originally built in the 16th century and later modernized in the 17th century by Christine Marie of France, the palace was once the home of royalty. Guided tours take visitors every half hour through sumptuously decorated rooms with rich fabrics, ornate ceilings and chandeliers, and inlaid floors.
The Cathedral and the Holy Shroud: Dedicated to John the Baptist, built between 1492 and 1498, the cathedral was Turin’s first example of Renaissance. The main attraction to tourists is the Santa Sindone, Holy Shroud which is kept in a fireproof, bulletproof and climate controlled vault behind the altar.

3. Travel

By Taxi Airport Transfer: Taxis in Turin start the meter the moment your call is received. A Taxi from Caselle central to Turin costs about €30 and takes about 30 minutes.
By Train: There are three main railway stations in Turin: Porta Nuova, Posta Susa and Lingotto FS. Porta Nuova station serves especially trains to the south and Porta Susa serves trains to all northern regions of Italy; both are stations dedicated to mid-range and long-range trains.
By Bus: Turin has an efficient system of city connections with buses and trams managed by GTT, which cross it from morning to late at night. The hard part of using bus travel is to remember to buy the ticket before getting in the bus.
